This blog is currently being built by Carmen McCain and Ida Hadjivayanis at SOAS University of London. It is meant to be a collaborative project edited by several translators, writers, and academics (to be named and profiled once the blog is built), and will invite submissions of working translations of African literature. We will focus on translations from and into African languages (for example from Hausa to English, or Swahili to Hausa); however, we would also be interested in other African literary translation projects–such as literature written in French or English into Korean or Japanese.
This post is a test and will likely be deleted after the blog has been built. However, since we are facing issues with security since this is a new domain name, we wanted to establish a presence and a purpose. For more information about the scholars involved in this project, please see the SOAS University profiles for Carmen McCain and Ida Hadjivayanis. You are welcome to email us at our university addresses to verify the information in this first post.
